SEMINARY

THE BIO-SUSTAINABLE VINEYARD OF THE FUTURE

Venice Terminal 103 - Monday 13 November, 9.15 am

Viticulture, in recent years, has faced important challenges.

The ongoing climate change has determined new scenarios; increase in extreme climatic phenomena, virulence of fungal diseases, virosis, phytoplasmas, periods of prolonged drought. All aspects that are difficult to address with traditional agricultural techniques.

In particular, the winemakers most inclined to conscious environmental sensitivity are called to an epochal challenge.

The search for greater "naturalness" in the vineyard by first introducing organic management and then combining the latter with biodynamic practices is no longer sufficient for a "new viticulture" which increasingly looks not only at the vineyard as a body in itself, but in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment.

With this seminar we would like to start a debate on these issues with the community of producers and visitors of Back to the Wine, not to give certain answers but to ask questions and possible solutions for a bio-sustainable future of the vineyard and consequently of the wine of the future.

They will explore the following topics:

Paolo Babini , Winemaker: “The biodiverse vineyard, the vineyard in harmony with the surrounding environment”

Thomas Niedermayr , Winemaker: “Resistant varieties, a concrete alternative to traditional varieties”

Stefano Lorenzi , Arborist: “Trees in the vineyard, benefits of the interaction between plants in agricultural crops”

Only 25 places will be available for this exclusive seminar, subject to availability and to be booked by sending an email to hello@backtothewine.com

NB Access to the seminar is free, but visitors will need to have an entry ticket for Monday at Back to the Wine 2023, which can be purchased online (the ticket office opens at 10am)
